Dear Member,
welcome to 2025 and a new season of golf for XLGS. The fixture list remains healthy thanks to the combined efforts of our Hon. Fixture Secretary, Pete Crowcroft, and the respective Match Managers who help secure our events into the future. We did lose the Blackmoor fixture but everything else remains solid as does our membership which has seen new blood joining us this year and so I would like to extend a warm welcome to Johnno Gordon, Grant Elner, David Andrews, Tim Cork, Pat Regan, Sajid Zaib, Bill Rockett, Robert Condie and Andrew Marshall to the society and hope to meet you during the year at a match or meeting. The fixture list is now ready for bookings on the website so please plan ahead and try and avoid unnecessary withdrawals which are the bane of the Match Manager.
I must pay my thanks to our Immediate Past Captain, Chris Greet, who attended an amazing 30 events in the year and continues to play an important part of the society. I can’t promise but I will try my very best to achieve a similar level of attendance in the year.
In finishing I would like to wish everyone in the Forty Club Golfing Society a very happy and successful 2025, both on and off the golf course.
