On a remarkably warm and dry day our team assembled in good spirits at West Surrey GC in anticipation of another friendly and competitive annual match against the China GS. The XL Club got off to a good start but by half way were 2-1 down. Our lower middle order rallied strongly to take us to a 3-2 lead. With the match seemingly heading for a draw – XL’s final pair battled back from 3-down to take a remarkable win 1 up on the 18th green and seal a hard won overall match win 4-2. We all repaired to the club house for drinks and a very convivial lunch. Both sides enjoyed this new venue for our match and we look forward to returning next year for more.
