We had a successful day at West Sussex despite having to contend with seven temporary greens, most on the back nine. The day started with thick fog and I feared we were going to be cancelled again but it lifted and actually the day ended up superbly warm and sunny. WS were very good and discounted the fee from £110 to £70.
I struggled a bit trying to get a team together with injuries and holidays and eventually had to bring in a WS member friend (playing off 2) as a ringer/honorary 40XL member!
We had 6 new players whom hadn’t played in this match before.
In the end we played 18 holes in the morning and 9 in the afternoon, primarily because most of the temp greens were on the back nine.
