Unfortunately Mr Baddeley, the Stage’s host was not there to greet us with his usual wit and the Stage’s captain (Basil Brush) was not available to entertain us due to a prior arrangement.
The match was played in bright sunshine with a stiff breeze and the course was in excellent condition, alas the result was not in our favour against some stiff opposition we manage to come second again.
I would like to thank the team for their efforts on the golf course and managing to pay in cash or cheques even if they do not usually pay in this manner. We enjoyed a pleasant lunch in one of the side rooms as the cube room was being used for another society.
