It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Robinson who passed away peacefully at home at the age of 93 – a good innings in every sense of the words. Peter was Captain of the XL Golf Society in 1992-3 and was the 7th captain from Esher CC, following closely in the footsteps of his Esher friends Jimmy Fulford (85-86) and Peter Wilson (81-82); and preceding Max Seager (94-95) and Ian Fisher (98-99). Along with the Esher CC fixture he was a recognised stalwart of the Stoics fixture. He was an afternoon winner of the Gardiner Goblets at the Spring Meeting in 1985. At Esher CC he captained a very strong 1st XI in 1976 and 77 and remained a lifelong supporter, serving on the Committee for many years before becoming Chairman from 1996 to 2001. He regularly enjoyed a sundowner watching the cricket. He was also instrumental in the three cricket tours to Barbados. Our thoughts are with Wendy, Sally, Jonny, Michael and families.
