Despite being close to the end of October, our annual match against the China Golfing Society was played in beautiful weather with short sleeves the order of the day and one XL member actually playing in shorts !
Unfortunately, despite fine golf to match the weather being played by most of the XL players , the CGS team played even better and, for the second successive year, emerged victorious, a trend we are surely determined to reverse next year.
The North Hants course was in great condition and both teams played with great spirit, fully respecting the old golfing adage ‘it’s the fellowship which counts’. A very convivial lunch followed and both teams parted looking forward to a re-match in 2023.
The result? China GS won by 5 wins to 1.
