It is with regret that this may well be our last visit to this splendid course.
Over the recent years the Hankley point of contact has found it harder and harder to raise a team to play us. This year it finally failed but the club were happy for us to play a competition amongst ourselves in lieu of the match which had to be cancelled.
Twelve of us took the opportunity to play on a course which was immaculately presented. Three teams of four competed on a best 2 scores per hole basis (all to score on the par 3s). Everyone enjoyed the format and the winners (Messers Johnson-Hill, Lancaster, Westwater and Halls) had the edge throughout. No doubt it was no coincidence that the selector of the teams was in the winning four!
Perhaps in the future we can move one of our other matches to this venue as it would be a great pity not to visit this quality course.
