Royal Navy Go Missing in New Zealand
The Royal Navy were short of recruits for our match with them at The New Zealand Club, maybe it was the lure of the LIV tour, or desertion or just too many crew going AWOL. Nevertheless we cobbled a match together and the Forty Club were victorious by five and a half points to four and a half. We were lucky with the weather as the only rain came during a good lunch. The fairways have suffered a bit during the dry summer, but were very playable with preferred lies. Hopefully next year the Navy will have a full crew.
