We assembled at Richmond Golf club to be informed that John Baddeley the match organiser was not there to greet us with his usual repartee due to a hospital appointment. Fortunately he arrived for lunch.
We played in glorious sunshine all day with a light breeze. I would like to thank the team for their sterling efforts especially as some of you were playing against opponents with very high handicaps thereby giving away a large number of shots.
Alas it was not quite enough as the Stage won, we came second and the Taveners were third, a slight improvement for us as we were last place in 2021. We had an excellent lunch in the Cube Room thanks to the new chef the club have appointed.
I hope to see the XLGS members there again next year.
