First Match of the Season vs Babalou GS.

Fellow golfers

As 3rd choice match manager (!) for today’s fixture, I’m delighted to report that the Forty Club golf season finally got underway today at West Hill with a match against Babalou Golf Society. Despite their being captained by one of us, we left the club with mixed emotions – so good to be returning to something approaching normality but some sadness that our unbeaten run since the start of the season in March (played none) has finally ended! It was a  fine match with the narrowest of deficits 2 ½ to 3 ½ and the consequence of the Forty Club picking up the lunchtime refreshment tab. Not only are they, as a society closely aligned with our own views, but the West Hill course was in good nick for May and as ever we were excellently looked after by the staff.

Definitely a match to look out for next year.

Our fixtures are now up and running and I hope to meet up with many of you over the next month or so.

Best Wishes

Doug
